Forsyth County Public Library’s Central Library has been closed since October 2014 for Renovation. It will be reopening late Summer 2017. During this time the library has been presenting an offsite Music & Movement program on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 11:00 am.
Gaston County Public Library – http://gastonlibrary.org/ – Strech & Move gentle adult exercise class Fridays at 10:30 at Cherryville Branch; Fantastic Fit Fridays offered during Summer Reading at Main Branch.
Greensboro Public Library – http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/index.aspx?page=780 – Sensory Storytime for children of all ages offered monthly at Glenn McNairy Branch. Glenwood Branch programs provided include: Yoga Storytimes, usually twice a year; Preschool Listen & Move Storytimes, usually 2 or 3 times a year; Preschool/Afterschool Dance Party, usually once a year; Outdoor and Indoor Playground Games for special events. Hemphill Branch has an annual Splash Night in mid-summer usually the last Monday night in July: Event includes outdoor water relays and water balloon toss, a sprinkler, and bubble play.
The Kathleen Clay Edwards Branch Library is located in Price Park, a 98-acre passive park. Mailboxes at the trailhead and in the reading garden contain hands-on activities to enjoy during nature walks. Nature-themed backpacks with books and activities for outdoor use are available for checkout from the library. Orienteering courses can be found in the park, as well as a corresponding orienteering backpack in the library. For the curious adventurer, geocaches and letterboxes are hidden throughout the park as well. Outdoor bird walks, hikes, and other library nature programming are provided regularly by library community partners such as The National Audubon Society and the Piedmont Bird Club.
Harnett County Public Library – http://harnett.libguides.com/c.php?g=571520&p=3939699 – Yoga Time every third Friday at 10 a.m. for children 3-5 at Dunn Public Library; Yoga for Adults held once a month during the evenings. The Lillington Branch offers Pre-K yoga through the Harnett County Partnership for Children on the last Friday of each month at 10 a.m. Registration through the library is required. The Lillington Branch also offers a Story Time at the Park for all ages every Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Anderson Creek Park. The story time is held outdoors near the park’s playground and children are encouraged to stay and play on the grounds or explore the park’s nature trails after participating in songs, dance, and stories.

Transylvania County Library – http://library.transylvaniacounty.org/ – Hullabaloo! Programs for ages 0-5 offered on various dates. The library also offers two annual movement-based, outdoors programs in collaboration with other agencies in the county: 1) Spring Into Books and 2) Family Splash Day. Spring Into Books is held in the spring and is an interactive book-related adventure course targeted for kids ages 4-12. Family Splash Day takes place in the Summer. The library sets up a mini water park on the Library lawn. Activities targeted towards toddler and preschoolers, but all ages welcome.
